  มาต่อด้วยรูปแบบประโยคที่หากเรากำลังทำอะไรก็ตาม เราจะใช้ tense

นี้เสมอ 

โครงสร้างของรูป tense นี้คือ

S+is,am,are+v1 เติม ing

ตัวอย่างเช่น

 He is speaking

I am reading.

They are writing.

หลักการเติม ing มีหลักเกณฑ์ดังนี้

1. v ที่ลงท้ายด้วย e ให้ตัด e ทิ้งและเติม ing
2. v ที่ลงท้ายด้วย ee ให้เติม ing ได้เลย
3. v ที่ลงท้ายด้วย ie ให้เปลี่ยนเป็น y ก่อนและจึงเติม ing

เช่น die  -  dying

      Lie -  lying

4. v ที่มีสระตัวเดียว  ตัวสะกดตัวเดียว และเป็นพยางค์เดียว ให้เพิ่มตัวสะกดเข้ามาอีก 1 ตัว

เช่น stop – stopping

Run  - running

Sit – sitting

Dig – digging

5. v ที่มี 2 พยางค์ซึ่งออกเสียงหนัก ที่พยางค์หลัง และพยางค์หลังมีสระตัวเดียว ตัวสะกดเข้ามาอีกตัวหนึ่งเสียก่อน แล้วจึงเติม ing

เช่น  begin – beginning

      Refer – referring

หลักการใช้งาน present Continuous tense

1.ใช้กับเหตุการณ์ขณะพูด และมักมีคำว่า now , at the present , at this moment , at the present time , these day(หมู่นี้)

เช่น

He is coming to the office now.

At the present time he is staying at the hotel.

2.ใช้กับเหตุการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้นในระยะยาว ซึ่งไม่จำเป็นต้องทำขณะนี้ แต่เป็นเวลาอันยาวที่ต้องทำจริง ๆ

เช่น My son is working hard this term.

3.ใช้กับเหตุการณ์ที่จะเกิดขึ้นในอนาคตอันใกล้ ซึ่งคาดว่าจะต้องเป็นเช่นนั้นแน่นอน

เช่น  I am going to singspore on Friday.

We are moving into a new house tomorrow.

4.ถ้าประโยค  present continuous tense เชื่อมด้วย and ให้ตัด v to be ที่อยู่หลัง and ทิ้ง

The man is smoking a cigarette and reading the newspaper.
